blahThe Southern Okanagan Association for Integrated Community Living (SOAICL) donated an aqua wheelchair to the Oliver Parks and Recreation Society. The donation will give physically as well as mentally disabled the opportunity to use the local swimming facilities.

Part of the funds to purchase the chair came from a grant from Community Action for Health Action Fund to SOAICL. SOAICL then, in turn, donated the aqua-chair to Oliver and District Parks and Recreation, for the use of all citizens in our community who live with a disability.

In appreciation of the donation Oliver Parks and Recreation facility offered an afternoon of swimming and hot dogs for the general public.

After years of fundraising and hard work 350th Ave and 101st St in Oliver is complete. Phase 1 has become the home to many deserving people.
